Student Managed Invest Fund (SMIF)

While studying at Kennesaw State University, I was involved in school's sponsored Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). Throughout the semester, we would research a particular sector and pick top stocks worthy SMIF investment. Stock research would be compiled of qualitative and qualitative analysis, financial statement overview and future performance predictions. Benchmark used to compare top picks would be S&P500. After extensive research, financial analyst along with the team leader (me) would present top stocks to SMIF investment committee. Chosen stocks would be added to the SMIF portfolio.

Redefining Investment Strategy Education (RISE) 2010

Me and other SMIF members have visited largest student investment conference in the world! Each year R.I.S.E. invites business professionals to share their experience with students. Impressive profile individuals like Patrick Dorsey (Morningstar, Equity Research Director), Robert C. Doll (Vice Chairman for Black Rock) and Janet Holmes (Moody's, VP) arrived to University of Dayton and participated in two and a half day affair. I had great fun and learned a lot while, hope to be back soon.
